Twenty Fifteen – Some of Our Favourites
If someone told me two years ago “2015 will be your year – by the end of it you will have photographed 34 weddings and 29 pre-wedding shoots travelling all over the UK in doing so” I wouldn’t have believed a word of it! But here we are, on Christmas Eve, fire on, kitties purring away in front of it, glass of prosecco in hand (what, don’t judge me, it’s Christmas Eve!) reminiscing about the amazing year we’ve just had.
2015 has been a year full of firsts; our first time working at many various gorgeous venues, our first time shooting three weddings in as many days, our first nomination as Best Wedding Photographer in The Wedding Industry Awards, our first destination wedding booking, and our first full year working together as a husband and wife team. Having so many firsts in one year has been as rewarding as it’s been challenging; James still has his 9-5 job as well as running the business with me. When it came to August and we had 10 weddings to shoot up and down the country, that was challenging to say the least! It tested our physical and mental endurance, more than anything we’ve ever experienced. Not to mention our relationship – living, travelling and working together would be deemed as some couple’s idea of hell! But thankfully, we came out of the other side of it, even more in love with each other and what we do.
We’re strong believers in progressing our art, and this year we have done so by attending some workshops and gatherings with some of the photography industry greats. Claire Penn Photography gave us a good old fashioned kick up the arse when we needed it most and we got to spend a couple of days of inspired talks at the NineDots Gathering in London. One of the core subjects of the NineDots gathering was ‘finding your why’. We started off in the wedding industry gearing ourselves towards technically impressive statement shots, however that’s secondary to the emotion, the connection and the people. This is our ‘why’, it was staring us in the face all along.
So what’s next for 2016? Well, we’ve been fortunate enough to be booked for some amazing sounding wedding days which will see us all around the U.K. and Antigua (whaaaaat?!) We have lots of exciting thing planned which we can’t yet divulge, but watch this space…
Lastly, we just want to say a bloody HUGE thank you to all of our couples who have trusted our vision to tell a story of their wedding day. Here are some of our favourites from some of those big days. With so many emotional moments to choose from, we were spoilt for choice, but enjoy (preferably with a tasty tipple and a mince pie)
Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year!
Lots of Love,
Katie & James

Wowsers, a really cracking collection guys, so characterful and creative – fantastic!
Thank you SO much Mr. Law, that means a lot coming from you <3
Amazing shots guys! Looks like you’ve had an incredible year. Have a great Christmas and a fabulous 2016! See you at Snap 🙂
Awwww thank you Andy! It feels so surreal looking through these images, remembering all the places we’ve been and people we’ve met. Cannot wait to see what 2016 brings, woo see you at Snap! 😀
Wow. That really is the only word I can think of to sum up these – what a year you have had. The very first image of the bride shedding a tear is amazing. As someone finally quitting the day job and not feeling 100% confident that I’ll get the bookings I need your end of year round up as given me the kick up the behind to remember its all about the emotion. Wishing you an amazing 2016, your work is beautiful.
Awwww thank you so very much Becky. That image is one of my very favourites too; it’s so easy to get carried away creating an image that you think will have the *cringe* “wow factor” but it’s the emotion that drives what we do. Bloody love it! That’s so amazing that you’re now full time, a huge GOOD LUCK honey (not that you’ll need it) Wishing you an amazing and successful 2016, we must get together! 🙂
Woohoo! What a tip top year you guys have had 🙂 so much emotion and colour, these are ace!
