The Wild Boar Wedding Photography – Emma & Matt
The Lake District is somewhere we love to spend our time. Sitting by a lakeside in summer. Watching the nothingness go by, the birds lazily paddling at the shore. It really makes us appreciate how lucky we are to be only an hour away from this incredibly beautiful part of the world.
The Wild Boar Wedding Photography | In fact, we’d just returned from the Lake District (Grasmere to be exact) a couple of days before Emma and Matt invited us round for dinner and a chat in the weeks leading up to their wedding. It might come as absolutely no surprise whatsoever, that our primary motivation for doing anything is food. And Matt being a chef, we were knocking on their door before you could say ‘Homemade Salami’.
So, the morning of the wedding. We drove up through the beautiful South Lakes to reach the Wild Boar. We’ve been for lunch a couple of times and even stayed over before, but we can never get bored of the gorgeous Cumbrian charm of this place. They have their own on-site smokehouse and brewery, so it’s a little bit of indulgent heaven for us. With roaring wood fires in winter and walks around the venerable estate. Coming here to shoot Emma & Matt’s wedding just felt incredible. F from the morning, the atmosphere was laid back, relaxed, and everything we love in a wedding.
The place looked beautiful, decorated with country flowers, and wonderfully fitting details which just looked perfect in the rustic beamed splendour of this place. Emma and Matt’s emotional ceremony was held in the restaurant, before we headed off in the Defender, driven by the fearless Mark. We walked the hills, got a little soggy chasing the light around the tarn. We had a great laugh with Emma and Matt as we made some portraits for them.
After the wedding breakfast (we had a FANTASTIC rib-eye), the sun moved to the back of the Wild Boar, and so did the action. Everyone hung our near the woods, and played garden games while the evening party got going.
We spotted a bit of evening light emerging through the trees after we were happy with what we’d shot. So we quickly unpacked, grabbed our gorgeous couple and ran for the trees just as the most stunning sunset emerged. For a few minutes anyway.
It was such a pleasure to be involved with your wedding day, and we can’t imagine a more fitting setting than The Wild Boar. We can’t wait to go back there, and it now holds an even more special place in our hearts. Enjoy your blog you guys!
