Stirk House Wedding Photography – Vicki & Mark
Stirk House Wedding Photography | We love a winter wedding!
Stirk House Wedding Photography | A warm country house full of love and laughter, looking out of the windows as the rain comes down outside, is one of life’s true pleasures. Stirk House in Lancashire is one of those places nestled in the heart of the Ribble Valley, where we just feel at home. Snuggled into a wingback chair in front of a log fire in the bar, it’s awesome. So when we were asked to come back here to photograph Vicki and Mark’s wedding, we mentally picked our seats at the bar, and prepared for one hell of a wedding day.
This was our second time as wedding photographers at Stirk House. This time, we got to spend all day from the ceremony to the evening with Vicki and Mark, and their wonderful guests. As has happened a suprising amount of times this year, we had a cameo appearance from one of our other couples, Shelly and Kirk!
It’s always so lovely when we’re recommended to friends of a bride and groom, and we feel a really special connection with the wedding party. The wedding breakfast room has been refurbished since we last photographed here. It’s looking in fine form, fresh, bright, and that huge window light in the ceiling creates beautiful soft light that we love to shoot in.
Wellies were definitely the order of the day for the portraits. Stirk House is one of those proper country venues where it would be rude not to go for a hike and appreciate the beauty of it all.
So on went the wellies, out we went, and had an amazing time photographing this gorgeous couple just after they were married. We were lucky enough to have beautiful floral arrangements by The Flower Barrow in Poulton too, which looked perfect with the winter surroundings.
We were particularly excited about this wedding too, as it was the first time we got to be at a wedding with Paul Guard. If you want someone to get a party started, there’s nobody better. We laughed and sang through his witty, energetic and downright hilarious wedding breakfast entertainment, and later on danced late into the night as Paul kept the dancefloor packed and everyone in the party spiri.
