Sefton Park Palm House Wedding Photography and Videography – Pip & James
Pip & James got married at the incomparable Sefton Park Palm House this summer, and asked us along to photograph and film their day.
The Palm House has quickly become one of our favourite venues. There’s nowhere like it for a bright airy feel which changes with the seasons and always provides a unique vibe for every wedding. It’s the ultimate backdrop of natural and architectural beauty to add personal touches to.
Sefton Park Palm House Wedding Photography and Videography | We asked Pip and James how they came to choose to get married in Liverpool, and all about how they chose their themes and detail for the day.
‘James and I got together when we were at Liverpool Uni – I was studying English and French and he was studying Architecture. We stayed together despite me moving to Paris for a year and then both moved to London.
We always said we’d move back to Liverpool and we did that last year! Also, we got engaged in Sefton Park so it’s nice having our actual wedding there too 🙂
We’ve always loved the architecture of the Palm House and the bougainvillea remind me of summers in Greece with my family and later, James and friends.
Our theme is very mediterranean – my bouquet is a mixture of wild flowers and beautiful herbs such as oregano. James and my mum and dad and I went on holiday to Majorca last year and had the most amazing meal for my dad’s birthday in a pretty restaurant in a very Spanish village called Deia. It had the most incredible view of the lush green hills and on all the tables were a pile of lemons, candles and pink bougainvillea which gave me the idea for our tables.
We had two best men and three bridesmaids. Rather than the best men representing the groom and bridesmaids representing the bride, they are very much friends to both of us. Alex and Graham are also James’ business partners.

‘My mum is making the cake! James and I both love pistachio so it was always going to be part of one of the tiers. Again, we’ve gone for very mediterranean flavours and natural, relaxed decoration.
Music is really important to both of us and Paul at Wedding Jam completely got us from the get go. They DJ for people who don’t want cheesy wedding music and we have complete faith in him! ‘

‘The bridesmaids’ dresses i bought before i even bought my own dress! I loved the colour, shape and fabric. I didn’t want anything very formal or obviously bridal so they were perfect.’
Pip & James really pulled off the relaxed mediterranean-feel wedding they dreamed of. With beautiful light and a fantastic group of friends and family, it really was a pleasure to be involved with. We can’t imagine a more fitting setting than Sefton Park Palm House.
