There are just some places that we get to visit as wedding photographers, that give us goosebumps right from the first look. A stunning farm in Cumbria, surrounded by the peaceful mountain views, a rustic barn, and two amazing people in love. New House Farm in Lorton has two new massive fans.

New House Farm Wedding Photography | We met Natalie and Phillip, both getting ready at New House Farm on the morning of their wedding. Natalie was starting the preparation with family and her bridal party. Phillip was making sure the last minute details were perfected before the ceremony. The level of detail and personalisation everywhere was amazing. The unique fruit and vegetable decorations and bouquets were beautiful, quirky and like everything else at their wedding, intently personal.

After the nerves were pummelled into submission by Vodka shots pre-ceremony, Natalie and Phillip were married in the barn at New House Farm. Heading out into the surrounding countryside, garden games, cocktails, and the background tunes of a Caribbean steel band set the perfect relaxed atmosphere for the afternoon. The guests soon got involved.

New House Farm Wedding Photography | We headed off to nearby Crummock Water for some portraits. And to give Natalie & Phillip some alone time to reflect on their newly married status.

It was a beautiful day. Calm water was in in the idyllic lakeland background. The slowly browning late-summer leaves and the stillness of the air made the perfect relaxed spot to escape to.

We returned to the wedding breakfast. It was a veritable feast of tapas, speeches, and home-made toffee vodka made by Natalie and her Mum. In the evening, dancing and sparklers entertained while the sun went down. We took one last opportunity to use the evening light to make some final portraits of Natalie & Phillip in the grounds. Then we headed in for more drinks and dancing. The sky started to clear as the temperature dropped, and we couldn’t resist trying to capture that fantastic starry sky, away from the light pollution. So we headed out. And after a few test shots and some scrabbling around in the dark, we made one last portrait before saying goodnight to New House Farm and the Cumbrian surroundings.
