Crewe Hall Wedding Photography – Kathrine & Nigel

Feb 2, 2017

Crewe Hall Wedding Photography – Kathrine & Nigel. Our last wedding of 2016 was in the unbelievably beautiful Crewe Hall in Cheshire. I don’t think we’ve ever met a groom with so much commitment to attention to detail, organisation and putting together the perfect wedding party as Nigel. It truly was a joy to behold as we saw it all come together. This was made all the more impressive, by learning that neither of our couple had ever been to a wedding before!

Crewe Hall is a wonderful Grade 1 listed Jacobean hall in the Cheshire countryside. Everything from bride and groom prep in the morning, up until the evening party, was here. This meant no travelling between locations, and more time to party later on! Red Floral Architecture supplied the flowers and gold decorations for the incredibly elaborate and Christmas-feel of the wedding breakfast room and evening reception. They used mosses, candles and a breathtaking array of gold statues, obelisks, reindeer centrepieces and fine detail everywhere. They created a truly stunning and memorable, decadent feel to the wedding day which perfectly matched the venue and the personalities of our couple.

The ceremony was held in the library on the top floor of Crewe Hall. It had always been Kathrine’s dream to be married in a library. We couldn’t think of a more fitting venue than this. More candles added a romantic touch to the already gorgeous ambience. The journey up the galleried landings and swept staircases to the ceremony room felt like a fairytale.

After the wedding ceremony, we headed down to a drinks reception and confetti.

Then we headed off for some alone time for Kathrine and Nigel. We got some awesome portraits of just the two of them of course. It had been raining earlier in the day, but it subsided just long enough to sneak out to a romanesque-arched staircase at the rear of Crewe Hall. The lights and Christmas decorations were so beautiful around the hall. In keeping with the time of year of course, we couldn’t resist incorporating these into some portrait shots indoors. There was stunning low light, romantic fairy lights and candles around the galleries. We loved creating an intimate, wintery-feeling set of portraits for this amazing couple.

In the evening, we returned to the Long Gallery. It’s a cavernous and beautiful space on the the top floor, where we were entertained by The Little Big Band late into the night. The atmosphere was electric, and we had an absolutely incredible time.
